You know compromise to the world is compromise to the Lord.
I met a person the other day that cussed like the unbelieving world to make small talk but when I mentioned that I believed in the Lord and gave him a Tract thinking he was an unsaved person, he made a hundred and eighty degree turn in his speech and started to tell me that he was "saved and washed in the blood and it was hard walking by faith and that God can save to the utter most even heard the most beautifully spoken poem he wrote of his declaration of Faith"..... and it just grieved my spirit. It really did.
Can we walk on a fence? No way! The Bible says that if you find a brother that is weak and he repents then you gained a brother but if he doesn't then mark him(I prayed for him) so I mentioned to him about (Ephesians 4:29) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace to the hearers....if he truly is saved then he would hear what God is trying to tell him about his foul language that it displeases his Savior because who God loves He chastens(corrects) but he said things that were very disturbing.
He said, "I don't go to Church because it's not about religion but Christianity which is a beautiful thing" well wait a minute....In (Hebrews 10:24) it says not to forsake the assembling of ourselves as the manner of some are. We receive a blessing when we have fellowship with God's people and can be a blessing to others not to mention that God has specifically called some to be a Pastor to learn the Word of God under in Titus chapter 1. Sure you may have had a bad experience at a Church, and you don't have to go back to that particular one but then you ask God to lead you to the right one you don't just abandon what God has put in place. If not, you start to lean on your own understanding which we are told not to do in (Proverbs 3:5).
Also he justified his cursing because "Pastors are not doing their job" which I had no idea what he was talking about and he "didn't want to be perceived as too religious". Wow. How are we supposed to shine our light if it's hidden under a bushel Jesus himself said? Or should sweet water and bitter be coming from the same fountain of our tongue? We strive, I know I do and am sure you do to, to not allow this to happen. Why? Because we want to please our Savior. We are supposed to be a peculiar people a royal priesthood that we should showforth the praises of him who has called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light...(1 Peter 2:9)
I prayed after to ask the Lord to help me be a better witness, husband and dad than what I just heard. Let us not walk hypocritically in our Faith but we need (Romans 12:1 and 2) to ask the Lord to help continue renewing our minds and holding every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). We can start by confessing our sins because He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). I want to point others to Jesus because we can't carry stuff or money or reputation to Heaven....but people....who see their need of being rescued from their sin through our Savior Jesus. Amen.
