Thank you Pastor Sprouse for providing the excellent statements of Liberty from Our Founding American Fathers.
What is the true essence of America Liberty? Can you see the reality in these few yet profound statements?
John Adams, June 21, 1776: "Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for liberty but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free Constitution is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting liberty."
Thomas Jefferson, 1781: "God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever."
Patrick Henry: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here."
John Adams, July 3, 1776: "The second day of 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever."Well did you see the answer to Our true America Freedom and Liberty? Our Founding Fathers had it right and founded this nation upon the Rock of Christianity. It is a Gift from God Almighty, founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and not on religion and it can only stand when the virtue of God through Salvation is inspired into the hearts of the People of the land and its Government. But! If we neglect to be led by Him whose hand of blessing has flowed to us these past 230 years then we can not help but be visited by His wrath because His justice cannot sleep forever.
Let us bless God in prayer, in worship, in Spirit and in truth for such does the Father seek to worship Him by Faith, even this coming July 4th Sunday, Freedom Sunday in acts of devotion to God Almighty. I am so "glad to be an American where at least I know I'm free"....for now.
