USA Flag Color Meaning from egruve.com
Flags vary from country to country in the shapes and colors embedded in it. One can’t help but wonder if the colors of the flags contain inconspicuous meanings other than the flag itself signifying freedom and the government in a particular country. Perhaps, the flag of United States of America, a federal republic believed to be the most powerful country by many would pique people’s interest.
Nicknamed as “Star and Stripes” or “Old Glory”, the flag is a thirteen-striped alternation of the color red and white. The thirteen stripes stand for the thirteen colonies revolting against the British government. There are fifty stars in the blue rectangle above the stripes which depict the fifty U.S. states. The flag of the US contain its national colors, the red and the white. Many people regarded the red stripe color in the flag as a symbolism of how great men of their nation fought for freedom which is suggested by the white hue. Aside from the great seal, the flag was believed to have distinguishing signification brought by tradition.128The white color signifies purity and peace. The red hue symbolizes valor, courage, enthusiasm, blood and life while the blue color indicates perseverance, justice, vigilance and respect for God. The stars in the flag according to tradition are associated with heaven and how the nation aspires to achieve it where as the stripes are the light rays from the sun. The official day the flag was made is June 14, 1777 and it was in this day that the congress of US finalized the red and white stripes alternation design of the flag with the blue rectangle containing fifty stars. The blue canton is also named as the “Union” because of its symbolism.
Widely used even in maritime, seals, and public buildings, the flag truly embodies a whole lot of implications that enable individuals to band together as citizens of a specific country. Without the common goals and symbolisms that the flag brings, it would definitely be difficult for a country to prosper and to inculcate to its citizens, the value of patriotism and nationalism that they are reminded of whenever they see the flag.
OUR FLAG
The stars that show in the sky.
Are on the flag that we fly.
They sparkle free in the night.
To show we’ll be all right.
The red rays of the sun.
Are the red stripes we have won.
They symbolize the blood we shed.
We salute those who are dead.
The white-capped waves of the sea.
Are the stripes we fly faithfully.
They stand for love and purity.
To help us be forever free.
The blue sky, up so high.
Is on the flag we’re proud to fly.
We’ll always be true-blue.
Faithful, loyal, and trusting too.
The stars that show in the sky.
The red rays of the sun.
The white-capped waves of the sea.
The blue sky, this is what it means to me.
America is……
The place to be
America is…..
Proud and free…
We are so blessed here in America that it is time for America to Bless the name of God, as Dr. D. James Kennedy always mentioned. This is like no other nation on earth except Israel that was a sanctuary from Christian persecution in England for the first Pilgrims that landed here and has been given the priviledge of knowing our Founding Father, God Himself and the Lord Jesus Christ and walking with Him and sharing His Gospel.
With having so much light(Word of God) there comes responsibilities. 200+ years this nation has followed God. And when we are careless to not do what God has said in His Word, we are, no doubt, bound to fall because of sinful cavities and moral depravities, slavery and racism being some of them in our past.
America still stands because, I believe, Christians still follow the REAL Commander In Chief and judgement is stayed for yet a little while longer as in the days of Lot from Sodom and Gomorrah. God is not willing that any should perish so his restraining is beyond my comprehension.
Let us not grieve the Holy Spirit(Ephesians 4:30) while he is restraining America but number our days because our lives are but a vapor and America is now the NEW Mission Field. I look forward to meeting George Washington in Heaven one day.
